Restore & Repair Disks ?

Hello,

a. When making the Repair Disk, and the 3 Restore Disks for a new PC, can they be made without a connection to the internet, or is a connection required ?

b. Apparently you get only one shot at making the 3 Restore disks.
What happens if your DVD writer messes up, or the DVD disk used is itself is bad ?
Can you still, somehow, make or obtain them ?

c. I guess the Restore disks are specific to the PC that generates them, but is the Repair disk generic, or is it also pegged to the generating PC ?

Thanks,
Bob

Not sure what you mean by "repair disk" if you have a valid operating system installation disk.

Question A: I don't see why you would need an internet connection.

Question B: I have never made restore discs, but I'd be surprised if you only had 1 shot.

1. I made mine for my HP laptop without internet. Shouldn't need it as these disks are designed to restore the system to it's out of box setup.

2. You should be able to buy the restore disks from the manufacturer for a nominal fee.

3. Not sure if it will install, but I doubt you can activate it as the key is tied to the original computer.

Edit: ignatzatsonic, my HP only allows one copy of the discs to be made also. A new trick I guess.
