hello everyone.. i am dying to know the answer to my question: CAN I USE SYSTEM RESTORE TO DOWNGRADE FROM WINDOWS 7 BACK TO VISTA?

In every respect 7 has the advantage over Vista. As Johathan suggested, if you are having specific problems, every member of the forum will be willing to help.
Give 7 a fair chance.
im hesitating whether to upgrade to windows7 or stay at vista. when i bought my laptop it never came with installation discs (vista) and drivers. so upgrading wouldnt be that easy. a friend of mine, who has also no backup drivers/installation disc, upgraded to windows7. later did he learnt that his webcam isnt functioning, bluetooth, et.al. finding drivers thru the net isnt just time-consuming, but harmful as well.
If you can upgrade, and have the budget, do so. Finding drivers will be a breeze, and if you need help, we will find them for you.
What do you mean by "finding drivers through the net is harmful"?
Do not know about your friend, I just know my experience. Had Vista pre installed. With an upgrade Windows 7, I was able to install with no problems. I was on the net and everything was downloaded. I just, had to reinstall my programs. Agreed, results will differ. Now, you have both sides of the story.
If you run the windows 7 upgrade adviser it will flag any potential problems before hand. You can then look for drivers and decide if you want to upgrade. It will tell you if you have unsupported hardware and save you from finding out the hard way.
