    Restore points are huge

Ok, Each restore point is roughly 30 gigs in size. This is excessive to say the least. There is no way I am gonna devote 100 gigs to have only three restore points. I don;t recall this being an issue in previous windows versions. The initial creation takes up about 500 megs which is the registry, windows profile and things like this, but the size balloons to 30 gigs when the file backup part takes over. I am simply not gonna need or use the previous verison crap that is stealing 25 gigs plus. Correct me if i am wrong, but shouldnt a restore point be around 1-2 gigs in size?

Any insight into what is making the restore points become so large?

Are you certain that it is just restore points? Can it be shadow copies, system image and/or backup and restore. You can go to c drive>properties>disc cleanup>clean system files and you may get back 30 or so gigs, if shadow copies are included.

so reducing the allocated size is gonna then make all future restore points smaller? making it say 10 gigs, that wont even hold one restore point then.

just restore points. I have cleaned them out. I am not new to this, but this is quite odd

there are two images listed in the restore area, but they are invalid. they wont get deleted

Here is mine and I have never touched it.
IMO, you only need your last two Restore points, anything else is not needed .
