The last backup did not complete successfully

Anyone experience this issue when dual booting Windows 7 Enterprise (32-bit) and Ubuntu 9.10?

I've seen a few issues with this but everyone was dual booting... I've checked the backup location and it has 360GB free, and I have full permission to the backup location. Not sure what's going on...

The backup was not successful. The error is: Windows Backup had to skip all the drives included in backup. Make sure that the drives are plugged in and working correctly. (0x810000FF).

Look in the documentation for restore operations. Does it say something like "you'll probably never even have to use this but..." if so, run for your life down to get a dependable backup app. I think Macrium Reflect does Linux and Windows partitions.

I'm just simply trying to back up one folder of like 5MB... Not install 3rd party software. I posted on the forum to get help with the Backup and Restore feature, not anything else, lol

    Hello Altjx,

For just one folder, you should be able to just manually copy and paste it to the backup location to back it up. This way you can just copy and paste it back when you want to restore it.

    Hope this helps,

yeah, it's not a bad idea but i often have a lot going on and would tend to forget, especially if i modify the folder a few times on a daily basis and might not have time to copy/paste everytime i modify it.

I know 3rd party software can do the same thing, but I'm trying to fix this issue with Backup and Restore in Windows 7. I'd like to troubleshoot this issue itself and get it working if anyone wants to help. Thanks.

From your error message above, it looks like either the backup drive was not connected/recognized or was included in the backup. You cannot backup to the same location that you are backing up. Check to make that the backup drive is displayed in computer before trying to backup.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I'm backing up to a network share. I can access the share manually with no problem. It's just that the backup service won't back up to it.

When you get to step 7 in this tutorial, did you select the Save on a network button and was able to select the network share location and enter the log on credentials?
