Aha, that's a different situation. Chances are that Win7 cannot read the files that you backed up with e.g. XP. I suggest you just copy them by hand to the DVDs. That way you know what you have done. Use this function: Context Menu - Add Copy To Folder and Move To Folder works in Win7, Vista and XP.
Well my current OS is windows 7 and I want to re-install it by doing a clean install because I didn't do that in the starting and I get alot of BSOD's. So I guess I could still backup?

Then use nero burning rom. If you dont have nero, download and install CDBurnerXP , its free, and nice burning tool. Works nice with win 7. You select upto 16x write speed, it will not take more than 10 minutes per disk. Moreover, you will have control on how much data you are putting on a disk, alongwith the disk's capacity.

Still, use the "Copy to folder". It is the easiest and fastest - believe me.
