Logging into locked laptop causes Acronis backup fail

Im using Acronis TrueImage as my Backup software and for the last 2 months Ive been having problems with Backup. (I also get the same issue with Windows Backup) .

Essentailly If I log into my laptop, having intentially locked the desktop or the screen saver may have kicked in, the backup fails with a Drive is not ready error (An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\DR4 during a paging operation). If I kick off a backup and carry on working on my machien then it works fine or if the screen saver kicks in but I dont log back in until the backup has finished then that is OK as well. The only time the error occurs is at the moment when I log back into my laptop.

Any thoughts - its driving me nuts?
