Backup Did not complete sucessfully.. NO ERROR MESSAGE?

So after trying to backup my computer via external harddrive i get a "Backup did not complete sucessfully", a giant red bar @ the 100% mark. upon inspection of the options and more info, i did not find an error report only that it failed? any speculations??

PS. i bought 2 external harddrives and they both gave me the same error so i ruled out the possibility of a faulty external harddrive.

    Any help would be appreciated!!

Look in event viewer (type eventvwr in search) go to the windowslog>application tab.

Look for critical errors (they have red in the left column) that relate to VSS, or back up.

When you find them not the event ID and source codes and let us know what they are.

Let us know if you need help

hey Ken, so i got this error:

    1) The backup operation that started at '‎2010‎-‎05‎-‎08T07:00:15.283000000Z' has failed with following error code '2155347999' (Windows Backup cannot find the shared protection point.). Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved. EVENT ID: 517

    and

2)The backup was not successful. The error is: The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002).

    any thoughts?

    Thanks!
