System Image - Access is denied (0x80070005)

On the Backup and Restore icon, when I click on the Create a system image link.
and when I choose On a hard disk, on the drop down menu I get <Refresh>
When selected it says: Access is denied. (0x80070005)
I want to take the image back up on other drive which is new, formatted and 230gb space.
    Please.

Use free Macrium then you will not have these problems. Win7 imaging is at best "erratic" and you can never be sure whether the recovery works - even when you managed to write an image.

Have you validated your copy of Windows 7?

    Ramesh,
After validating your copy of Window 7,
use the Snipping Tool to take a picture of the output of DISKMGMT.MSC

Attach that .png file to your next post.

Without a valid copy of Win 7 your efforts of no avail.

    Thanks,
The copy had been validated, and also registered. Still it is giving the same message now.
Though the importance of image is not so high, this message is bothering me.
Have started loading programs, will this cause any problem in near future, cant say.
    Hence I am more worried.
Will get the picture as told and post it, very shortly.
Have to learn how to do it !

    ramesh,

Good. Now can you use the Snipping Tool and make a PNG copy as I'm having great difficulty reading that jpg, although I'm presently using my netbook which doesn't have a large screen.

Next what drive/drives do you desire to backup to which drive? Use the drive letters shown by DiskMgmt to help me.

I think I know what your problem is but want to be 100% sure before giving the simple straightforward solution.
    Thanks, Karl

    Ramesh,
How are you making those snapshots? Please use the Snipping Tool included with Win 7. WIN key | type Snipping Tool | ENTER key

I absolutely can not read the snapshots you have submitted.

However, it appears (as best I can make out) that you have not formatted the destination drive. Please format the destination drive using NTFS.
