I am about to replace my Windows XP driven PC system by a new one running under Windows 7 64-bit. An important part of my backup stategy have been regular backups to DAT tapes using XP's NTBackup program. Unfortunately tape drives are no longer supported by Windows 7's built-in tools.
I am looking for a workstation software (the tape drive is connected directly to the PC) for creating backups on DAT tape, pretty much the same as NTBackup used to be. It would be particularly nice if this software could also
- read and restore tapes that have been written to by NTBackum, and
- write to tapes in NTBackup format so that I can read them on another PC using NTBackup.
Any suggestions?
