System Image Recovery Step 6 Question

My HDD is partitioned C: for OS and D: for data.

I did a System Image of C: only.

When I did a System Image recovery "Format and repartition disks" was greyed out and could not be selected, as per SevenForums Tutorial step 6 (shown below.)

    6. Check Format and repartition disks, and click on Next. (see screenshot below)

So I just clicked Next and continued.

Everything seems to be working fine, even after a few hours of use.

Was it not necessary to select "Format and repartition disks" in my case when only C: was Imaged and Recovered, or am I going to have problems sooner or later?

I presume if I had partitioned after the Image was taken then I would definately need to select this option.

Many thanks for any replies, the Microsoft Help for this is not very detailed. :)

If you did an image of c only, you should be OK.

    Thanks for the info richc46.

Do you know if it was greyed out because I only Imaged a single unchanged partition?

I was wondering, if I Image more than one partition next time, whether the "Format and repartition disks" check box will then be selectable ie not greyed out?

Below (in the same dialog box) it says something about installing drivers for the Disks being restored, if unable to select an option above.

YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PARTITION THAT IS IN USE, USING THAT METHOD

YOU MAY BE ABLE TO REPARTITION THE OTHER DRIVES

This software has more options (use the free edition)
Magic Server Partition Manager Software - Resize partition for Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2000.

    System Reserved Partition - Delete

Can you post back a screenshot of your full Disk Management drive map with listing, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu.

We can tell you then if this resulted in anything unusual.

It may have maintained the offset for C, meaning its relative partition on the HD was kept the same even though surrounding partitions weren't also reimaged.

You gain more flexibility using free Macrium Reflect for imaging if you want more control.
