    Recover & Restore WLM messages

Yesterday for some reason when I opened Windows Live Mail I found my two email accounts with just the default folders in each, Inbox, Drafts, Sent items, Junk e-mail & Deleted items. All of my folders and the email messages in them were gone. I tried several system restore points from earlier in the day but this did not solve my problem.

The path; Users, [my name], AppData, Local, Microsoft, Windows Live Mail. In the WLM folder are two folders with the name of my ISP followed by 18c and the other followed by bcf. I know that my missing folders are in these two ISP folders and I know my saved email are in these folders.

Since system restore didn't work I went to a back-up of my hard drive and restored (from 3 weeks ago) the ISP folders described in the above path. Opening WLM I was able to re-create all my folders and then drag and drop the emails into the proper folder from the storage folders. These emails were 3 weeks old.

I also tried in WLM to Import/WLM/Messages. This action only accomplished putting all of my folders (empty) under Storage Folders

How do I now use yesterday's system restore points to retrieve my email from the past 3 weeks? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I do not think that system restore will effect your mail. It only makes changes to the OS. You may want to try back up and restore, that is for personal back up. If you chose to include your mail, it should be there.

Type Back up and Restore in search

How do you know they are there? Did you read them in Windows Explorer? If so, you should be able to "import" them. Make sure WLM is functioning properly for new messages and also look in the same place in Explorer for both the new and old messages.
