Are all your documents backed up? Do you have DVDs for all the programs on your computer?

I have not done the repair, as i'm not sure if my restore disc will erase all my info. Internet explorer wont load any pages and says there is a connection issue, and Itunes looks like its opening for the first time, every time I use it. Does this help any? I have the restore discs, but I don't want to lose any files.
    thanks again

I can give you other options, but you may lose your personal documents, etc.

The recovery discs will almost certainly delete your data.

Do you have a friend with the same version of Windows that you do? See if you can borrow his Installation DVD and do a repair install.

Check the date and time on your computer. Also, try creating a new admin account and see if the problems persist there.

so I have been away for awhile, but I tried to use the recovery discs that I made and it won't read disc 2. I have some registry errors now, and my computer wont let me do a system restore, wont let me save anything and the sounds gone now. I think my girl tried to fix the registry and deleted some important items. When I try to do a system restore, I click on the button and nothing happens. I tried to make the discs again, but to no avail. What can I do at this point that will get my comp up and running again?

Thanks for all the help and replies!

Try downloading the appropriate ISO for your system, and then try a system restore from the disc.
