Windows 7: system restore

system restore

I did a system restore about 2 weeks ago, and ever since then, I can not get any of the microsoft troubleshooters to work. My Itunes account won't let me sign on( error message is "a secure network connection could not be established. Make sure SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 is enabled in the internet options control panel") I have checked both of those and made sure my firewall is not blocking it.

I am getting interesting errors saying they can't access database, files etc.

Somehow I have the permissions screwed up?

Any help on how to resolve these errors?

Thanks a lot!

I would check for a virus with a good anti virus scan and download and run malwarebytes. This does not sound like a problem that was caused by System Restore.

Malwarebytes didn't detect anything, and I am running a virus scan now. It doesn't seem like a virus to me, but time will tell.

Does not sound like a virus to you and does not sound like System Restore to me. It is always good to check for Virus as soon as there is any unexpected change, so that it can be corrected as soon as possible. If you are clean, we can try several things to get you back, including returing to a point prior to your problems.

Windows defender and Avira anti virus both, at different times scanned nothing on virus'. Any other suggestions to get some of the permissions, etc to work.

For instance, when I open Camfrog, I get an error message:

"Unable to open the Camfrog IM Database. Trying to gain acccess to the database failed. The database may be already opened by another Camfrog client. "

but then the program opens....

The best way would be to read the Microsoft Bulletin in my first post and cancel the system restore; we can work from that point to get things back the way you want.

There is not an option to undo a recent system restore, only asking me to go back to 07/07/10. I checked the box for more options, or dates, and that was the only option it gave.

Try this, if errors are found, try several times. It may take time to fix all the errors. If this does not work, we can try a repair; which I think will be our remedy.
