    Recovery Drive

Hey guys, on my laptop I have a recovery drive from back when Vista came factory installed on it.

I upgraded to Windows 7, and was wondering if I still need to keep that recovery drive (it's drive D, by the way)?

If not, what's the easiest way to go about removing it?
It'd be nice to have those 10 GB back.

I migrated the same way...frome OEM Vista Home Premium desktop to MS HP 7 64bit.
When I installed 7 I made D the recovery for win 7, which took up 8.9GB of space.
You might want to do the same thing on your laptop!

Okay well I have the D drive right now taking up 11.1 GB of space, and it's the Vista recovery drive. What I want to know is if it is necessary to keep it? Can I delete it and add it back to the C drive to get more space?

And if not, how do I go about making a Windows 7 recovery drive, which if your size is correct, will at least save me 2 GB?

Read this tutorial and then follow the directions if you want.
Other wise make the recovery on external drive and just forget that you have items on D drive that are not that important to you.
