It could be for a bunch of different reasons. What speed is your ram? A lot of us with high scores are running around 2400mhz vs the average 1600. What chipset are you using? A 990 amd should score a bit higher than a 970, but there's nothing wrong with a 970 as long as you don't ever plan on using crossfire or SLI. What kind of hard drive are you using? I'm using the new Samsung 850 pro, which is currently the fastest ssd around, which amps my score up quite a bit just in itself. There are all sorts of small little things that add up to be a big thing with a test like this. I noticed you're running an amd chip, which there is nothing wrong with for gaming, but an 8 thread i7 is going to bench a good bit higher than a 6 core amd chip, hell even an 8 core amd. I have a 6100 in my son's computer build and I have his overclocked to 4.7ghz, which is also running the 990x chipset and has crossfire 7950's and the video test plays a huge role in your score. Your chip could probably handle a much higher overclock then what you got right now, which would also make a difference. Just play around with stuff, push your hardware to it's limits, just be safe about it...we don't want to hear about anyone frying their rigs..do your research.

I thought i had already thrown my hat into this ring. I like the fact that this tests your entire PC instead of just your graphics and cpu. Here's my score and I'm pretty proud of it. Sorry Solar, I had to grab your spot.

    Passmark Score - 6475.0
All good these days the top is only temporary lol

Once some new gear is bought back to Dueling Banjo's lmao
Looking forward to it. I was thinking the other day and I have spent ridiculous amounts of money on my rig over the past few years. It's strange... it's like my rig is an extension of myself and I get a sense of accomplishment for building this masterpiece of a gaming machine. Alienware? Pfft... posers.
lols @ Alienware just a bunch of overpriced parts that we actually use ourselves lol

Also ,I agree this Machine is my extended self i am only as good as my Machine lol

Here's my long overdue Passmark results

    Everything at stock speeds:
CPU: 3.0 GHz (3.5 GHz Turbo)
    RAM: 2400

Someday I'll venture into OC, but it's not really necessary at this point
