i7 4790k with dual 390x
Just got dual r9 390x (msi) and thought I'd run tests. No OC on the cards just yet.

I'd say thank you... but my first tests pushed gpu2 to 94 and I think I saw it thermal throttling... either way quit Firestrike (was playing with OC)... immediately turned it off. Let sit. Opened side panel. Ran game, not tests for 3 matches of TF... even though I've logged over 600 hours I can't remember how long a match is... but worked her, and she only saw 84. The cards come with back plates so I think GPU2 is choked off. Way too damn close. (mobo msi gaming 7)... I have a new case (Tt V51), radiators (60mm alpha cool & stealth black ice), fans (corsair sp, cheaper)... but no waterblocks (i'm saving up, maybe a couple weeks out)... but I'm disapointed I can't run these basically. Not before watercooling, which yes I'm planning to do but damn wtf.
So thanks... but it's a sad thanks. Like a, these cards are coming right out thanks. LOL
da heck. dual 390x with a lower passmark than my dual 280s. thats cray cray.
edit - sorry. i'm an idiot. I lowered my OC on my cpu a few months back. Hoping to prolong life and wait for full cooling loop before more oc. I had 4.6ghz for a while there. I'm only at 4.4 now. I actually deleted intel oc software all together and just went with the msi hard button OC - bios based.
my bad.
Replaced the 2 390x's with a single MSI GTX 1080 Seahawk EK (preinstalled EK block, easy drop in solution for my loop)
Final Passmark score. cpu manual OC 4.6 all cores. cache and ring changes too. xmp 1600 ddr3.
Not a big enough bump to warrant running this OC all the time. 4.6 was highest stable clock I was able to get from my 4790k. Lot's of trial and error.
just ran the benchmark, my CPU is running at 3.8GHZ
