Can I ask you guys something, this might sound weird, well, weird to me.
Does having a new psu or cpu/fan/mobo have teething problems. This happened more than once for me. I got a new psu (1000w corsair). I had to pump it (if that makes any sense). I was almost in tears thinking after I had replaced my old psu that it didn't work, it seems I had to let the power have time to flow?
Is that how they work? I was about to send my new psu back to corsair and all of a sudden "It's alive!" and worked ever since.
That sounds very strange. I would power dower and check all connections. Please explain pump it

This seems to happen to me a lot. It's probably because I'm an impatient moron. After I got my new cpu, when I sat it and pulled the arm, I freaked out because it made what can only be described as tiny robot leafs being crushed. I lifted the arm and yet again, almost tears lol (crybaby) I thought I had flattened the cpu connectors and that was why my new mobo wouldn't power on.
Turns out, thanks to corsair, the 12 pin slipped out on the psu end when I was changing mobo's
I almost sent mail to Amazon <--idiot

I am curious why it had a slow start for you. Re-seating the connections may help, so do that.
Next we need to know what the voltages look like. You can read them in your bios, or use software and post a screenshot
