It is possibly best to discuss your 3D mark issues in the actual 3D mark Firestrike thread Solar, I don't really want to clog this thread up with discussions on that.

I am gonna post my thoughts on there now

What about the SSD benchmarks like Atto or AS SSD. Do those not belong into this list.
That is a very good point and not something I had considered. Although they are normally part of the "show us your SSD performance" thread I certainly think one would be good in here. Personally I think the AS SSD is easier for people to read and it gives a score so I will quite happily add that unless you want to start the thread yourself Wolfgang?
Nice thread Paul as I have just got my new lappy and was wondering about this issue as I find the WEI a tad pedantic and being judged on the lowest common "denominator" - often some low level component it doesn't in my mind reflect on how good the machine is.
Now my machine is an Asus ROG G750JM and if you want to look at the specs then it gives some pretty impressive details - Notebooks & Ultrabooks - ASUS ROG G750JM - ASUS and I would have thought even running the Intel HD graphics as I have 7 instead of 8 on the machine ( it will not run the GTX 860M GPU without updating the BIOS) the score would have been better than 6.9

As whs commented re the SSD specs go I think it is a valid point and one that has sort of got me thinking of starting a thread on measuring SSD performance but looking at it from a slightly different angle form the other SD sticky because on looking at the HD Tune tests I found spikes in the readout that are not related to one doing any activity on the SSD while running the test and some searching came up with some explanations. But that is something I have to think about for the future I am not going to go on in your thread:)
