Maximizing window when clicking on desktop icon

How do I get the picture to maximize automatically when I click on a desktop icon with Internet Express as the default browser. With Google Chrome as the default browser, it works fine.

Welcome to Seven Forums thebunns. If you mean you want to click on the Internet Explorer icon and have IE open as a normal window, then do this.

Right click the IE icon and click on Properties. On the shortcut tab click on the drop down next to Run: and choose Normal Window. Click Apply, then OK. It should now open as a normal window. You can also choose Maximized if indeed that is really what you want.

Thank you for your reply but I'm not talking about opening Internet Explorer. Also, when right clicking on the IE icon in the task bar, properties is not an option. I'm talking about clicking on any internet related icon on the desktop when Internet Express is the default browser. The picture does not come up maximized. I have to maximize it each time I open the site. This procedure is not necessary when Google Chrome is the default browser. I've read forum answers in the past that have fixed one person's computer but not the next person's. A Geek from Support Care One worked the problem for a couple of hours the other day but couldn't figure it out. He is now researching the problem & I'm supposed to get back to him in a day or two. I watched him try your solution as he was controlling my computer but it did not help. By the way, I didn't have the problem with Internet Express as the default browser until Google Chrome was downloaded & made the default browser. Then, going back to Internet Express the problem occurred. We tried uninstalling Google Chrome to see if the problem would go away. It didn't!

I've heard of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, but never Internet Express.

If you right click the IE icon on Start> All programs, you will have the option.

Can we confirm you are talking about Internet Explorer, and not Internet Express? If it is Explorer, then there are other ways to "teach" IE to open in a normal window.

    Windows open small in IE

If I am still not on the right track, I apologize.

I've been wrong all along! I'm in fact talking about Internet Explorer.
