Problem with internet explorer 8 Hello. I have problems with internet explorer 8. Each time i open it, everything seems fine. But when I click on Tools, it blocks. That happens everytime. I was thinking it may be a problem of addons, so I deactivated them all, but still without results. So I went do Add or Remove Programs, at deactivate windows characteristics, and i unchecked internet explorer 8, rebooted, and then checked again, then i went to internet options and cleared all cookies, but still without results. I have the same problem. What should I do? Thanks for future answers!

There are many buttons up the window, like file, edit, history, etc. and one of them is tools. When i Click on tools, it simply blocks. Without getting to click on internet options and the others which are part of it. I mean Internet Explorer 8 blocks, and I can only remove it from processes in task manager. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU Intel dual core 3.00 Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte series Memory 2*2 GB RAM DDR2 Graphics Card ATI RADEON 4650 SERIES Sound Card HD Monitor(s) Displays CY199D Screen Resolution 1280*1024 Keyboard RPC Standard Keyboard Mouse A4Tech Optical Mouse Hard Drives 1 Hard of 750 GB Internet Speed 12 Mb/s |

Are you blocked from going into the control panel and clicking on the 'Internet Options' Icon?
What do you want to do in the 'options'? Please explain in more detail. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Bruce ... somewhere in his 40's OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 MHz Motherboard INTEL/D975XBX2 Memory 4 GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 914v Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Microsoft PS/2 Mouse PSU Rocketfish 700 W Case G.Skill Gigabyte Chassis Hard Drives 2/500GB each ... I still don't understand what you mean by blocks. Does it block you from opening the tools tab? Does it grey out the internet options button? Does a message appear when you click internet options? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba P775-S7100 OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit CPU Intel Core i5-2450M @2.5 GHz Memory 6 GB DDR3 1333MHz Graphics Card Intel HD 3000 Monitor(s) Displays Built-in 17.3" LED; 22" Insignia NS-L22Q-10A Screen Resolution 1600x900; 1360x768 Hard Drives 750 GB Hitachi

Here I will attach a photo. The pannel is in romanian, but "Instrumente" means "Tools". As you see, when I am clicking on "Instrumente", it simply blocks, without showing me what it contains. As a consequence, I can only close Internet Explorer from processes tab in task manager, and I cannot do anything with it, just close it and run it again.
All I want is to have a full functional non-error Internet Explorer | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU Intel dual core 3.00 Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte series Memory 2*2 GB RAM DDR2 Graphics Card ATI RADEON 4650 SERIES Sound Card HD Monitor(s) Displays CY199D Screen Resolution 1280*1024 Keyboard RPC Standard Keyboard Mouse A4Tech Optical Mouse Hard Drives 1 Hard of 750 GB Internet Speed 12 Mb/s |

You should be able to close it with the little red x in the upper-right hand corner of the window or through the File menu. Are you using a standard or admin account on your computer? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba P775-S7100 OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit CPU Intel Core i5-2450M @2.5 GHz Memory 6 GB DDR3 1333MHz Graphics Card Intel HD 3000 Monitor(s) Displays Built-in 17.3" LED; 22" Insignia NS-L22Q-10A Screen Resolution 1600x900; 1360x768 Hard Drives 750 GB Hitachi

I cannot close with that X, no matter how many times I click on it (since it blocks......). I am using an admin account on my computer. Right click on a blank part of the menu bar and check "command bar". The new command bar can be customized to show another "Tools" option: right click on a blank spot choose customize then "add or remove commands..." . Now add the Tools command. See if that lists all your options. If it does, at the bottom of the list choose /Internet Options/Advanced/Reset.
If you can't get to "Internet Options" that way, you should try getting to it through Control Panel or type "Internet Options" (w/o quotes) in the start menu search box. (Close IE first.)
