can't download files from internet

i've done some digging but couldn't fix my problem. For the past time i can't download files or watch videos on youtube. I can't even download files using hotmail.

Turning off virus scanner and firewall doesn't work.

Anyone got a solution for me?

I used to have problems watching/downloading videos in Opera - I now use Firefox just to do that one thing.

Do you use Opera browser?
