IE8 - !Error on Page

I have two laptops (Dell & Asus) both running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8.
  • On the Dell, on some web sites I receive a message in the bottom left of the screen advising '!Error on Page', where it usually says 'Done' and I can't progress any further.
  • Whilst on the Asus, at precisely the same time, on the same web site, it says 'Done' and all is fine.
Does anyone know what might be causing this difference and how to rectify the problem?
Cheers.

My guess would be that it may be the addons that are different. Check to see if the addons are the same in both machines. Tools > manage addons

try to clean internet temporary files and then remove browser data (basically free internet from files which might be clogging it up)

then go try again

i suggest you switch to a different web browser for example firefox which has improved a lot in the past years! Internet exporer 8 has lots of problems which has made it a very laggy web browser.
