Windows 7: Hotmail is going to cancel my account

Got this email the other day,if they are trying to con someone you would think they would at least use good grammar.
Expiry has past and still have my hotmail account.

I get one of those every week on my "Spam" account. Some of them almost look convincing too

Wow that is hilariously bad.

Not just for the barely readable english but the where blantency of it. Not even a fake hotmail web page to log into or anything. Just flat out "Give is your account and password"

Not that I'm THAT amused, since I have to wade through about 2000 of these a week myself (AFTER spamfiltering even).

I never even look in the spam folder.. I just delete everything without reading it.

Well about 50% of spam is caught and tossed automatically, the rest go right into the main mail accounts. Unfortunately overly agressive settings delete REAL mail far to often and I can't chance that. That 2000 a week gets through both Live Mail's spam filtering and Spam Assasin.

Email is in almost unusuably bad shape. Can't believe were still using something invented almost 40 years ago with ZERO CHANGES in 4 decades. Email as we know it (SMTP/POP) has to go bye-bye, replaced with something that works. Built-in all the time encryption, sender verification, unforgable headers, Automatic (but revokable) "trust" relationships with companies and other senders, etc. etc.

I have my own methods for spam control that works for me.

I run all IMAP or Hotmail Connector Accounts

• I switch on the server side spam filters which clear a good percentage of the "Nigerian Banker" level scams.
• Everything then goes into Outlook 2010
• Spam protection in Outlook is set to lowest level, which tends to catch some more obvious spam that is missed by the server filters.
• Any spam that gets to the inbox is marked as spam (block sender or domain, dependent on details of the actual mail)
• I regularly check the server side spam folder in outlook and mark these as spam for Outlooks's filters. I will also on occasion add the regular occuring Outlook spam hits to the server side lists
• Any good mail in the server side or Outlook spam bin, is marked as good either on-line or in outlook as appropriate
• The outlook spam bin is emptied every day after checking

This does look a little complex but even with my current 7 active accounts takes a minute or so a day

OMG i've seen plenty of those in my time and just ignore it or even as a laugh i fill out fake details and then wondern how far they have got ...lol
