Segregating mail boxes within Live Mail

Both myself and wife share teh PC with teh same user profile. When I set WLM up and added both myself and her mail address, all incoming e-mails go to both of our inboxes.

Is there anyway to segregate upon receipt?

I would set up separate inboxes, as you did, then use rules: tools>message rules to send to the specified box.

Even though you are using the same PC and the same "user account" on that PC and the same WLM "sign-in account", you can still have different email addresses and each email address would have its own set of WLM folders (inbox, sent, drafts, ...). So it seems like something is wrong if the very same incoming email goes to 2 places. The only way this should happen is if the sender sends the email to both addresses; for example one "to:" you and a cc: or bcc: to the other address. They might even leave the "to:" and "cc:" fields blank and list both addresses in the "bcc:" field.

I have set up separate inboxes with respective folders.

I wonder whether it is because all of the e-mail addresses are from the same ISP so we have

[email protected]
[email protected]

for example

so all mails received from yyy.com who are the ISP are pupoulated in both myself and my wifes inboxes

I did notice many moons ago that this was standard for WLM but wasnt sure

Set up a separate account (Tools/Accounts) for each address and make sure the server tab is set up properly for each account. (They should be different from each other.) Same ISP or domain name shouldn't matter as long as the adresses are different.
