IE8 background colors missing on Print Preview

With Windows 7, I see that Internet Explorer 8 is included. On some web-pages I go to, when I perform a print preview, the background colors are missing. Does anyone else notice this? ...or is this a known bug?

    Thanks.

I downloaded IE8 for Vista, as it turns out IE8 is broken there as well. Finding a web-site with a colorful background and trying to perform a Print Preview results in the colorful background being white, i.e. not showing. It seems this has nothing to do with Windows 7 having a knock-on effect and causing a bug in IE8.

Yes, Internet Explorer doesn't have capabilities to render complex graphics :P unlike other browsers :P

Ha! I can't believe MS missed this, nor that anyone hasn't complained about it. IE8 on Vista and the IE8 that comes with Windows 7 both have web-page backgrounds that are missing. Unbelievable. However I have to say, Minefield (64-bit Firefox) works perfectly.

    Hi..
I got a same prob last days. Currently I use Windows 7 Enterprise. Print Preview show nothing on IE8. Just blank. In the meantime, I just use mozilla's browser to make a printing till I get a solution for that problem. the problem not occur when i make a printing from other document. its just happens on IE8.

FYI - I found out that the option to print background colors and images is not only in Internet Options, but it's also under Page Setup! I had to go in there to set it, in order to see backgrounds and images on print-outs. I can hardly believe I had to set it twice, but doing that makes it work correctly.

    Thanks for the info :)

But i juz realize that my problem quite different with yours because its not just background colors are missing but the whole content in the message box of the Page Setup, Print Preview even Print in the list of file's tab. Thats box totally blank. Meaning that, i can't choose a printer which i want to use, choose a page range, number of copies etc...

Yes I agree, that's a more serious problem! It sounds like you have application/software problems there, not just a particular feature of the software that's not working. If it were me, I'd think seriously about re-installing Windows.
