    IE8 and Outlook 2008 problems

I am having problems sending e-mail links from " send link by E-mail" under "page" on IE8. If i try to do this it will not open up my outlook programme to enable me to e-mail the link and causes problems in closing down IE8. I then have to open task manager to close down IE8.

I am sure that this is a recent problem as i have used this feature in the past without problem.

    Any ideas anybody ?

    Thyanks in advance

    Huw,

    Recheck the following -

*Go to IE 8 TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > PROGRAMS (tab )> INTERNET PROGRAMS> SET PROGRAMS> SET PROGRAM ACCESS AND COMPUTER DEFAULTS> CUSTOM> CHOOSE A DEFAULT EMAIL PROGRAM> and select your email program there.
Make sure "Enable access to this program" is checked.

    *restart your computer.

Let us know how you go.

Also, when selecting your email program it helps to not use the "Use Current" choice but instead specifically select Outlook for email (assuming it appears there) and IE for the browser as well.

Hi thanks for your help so far but I'm afraid the solution you have posted doesn't seem to work because as soon as i choose "outlook" under " choose a default e-mail programme" the box that says "enable access" etc fades and despite restarting the computer the problem i encountered is still there.

I am currently using WLM beta do you think that is causing the problem ?

You may have "solved" your own problem Huw....
Beta programs are known to cause glitches. By definition they are not "perfect."

Thanks for your help i guess i'll live with it. I've found that if i open outlook and then go onto IE8 it will allow me to do what i want i.e send links by e-mail.
