    Finding a replacement for Hotmail

Recently Micro$oft made changes to hotmail. One of the features they removed (that they called an 'improvement'), was the ability to delete junk mail immediately.

It was one of the few features that attacted me to hotmail. I could set it to delete everything sent to me from anyone that wasn't in my safe senders list. I needed to do this for what I feel are important personal reasons.

I could sign up for dozens of free email services, looking for one that provides the same service - few of them give a comprehensive overview of their features.

I am wondering if anyone knows of a free email provider like hotmail, that has the feature to delete all email send from someone not in a safe senders list.

    thanks

Yup, another vote for gmail here. Mainly because I have Outlook at home/work and an iPhone, so Gmail syncs nicely with all devices I use to access my email.

Sorry, GMail was one I had actually tried. It does not appear to provide this functionality.

Sure I can create filters but this is not what I am after. I dont want the mail arriving in my inbox or trashfolder at all unless the sender is on a safe list.

GMail does not seem to support safe lists at all.

Perhaps I am missing it? If there is a way to create a filter that says "Delete all mail from a sender not in a list of safe senders" which I can enable and disable when needed can you please help me. I can't see such a feature on GMail.

    <cough> Ouch... Over 250 addresses...

Is there a maximum length of the field? Hope it's big
