How to Email a Shortcut

I have a Windows 7 shortcut saved on a flash drive. It shows as 2K.
If I Attach it to a Thunderbird email it become 1 MB when I Send, and if I drag it to my desktop, Properties |Target says "This is not a valid shortcut".

So, as the title says, how do I email a shortcut to someone (a novice user) so that they can just drag it to their desktop?

Dont think that can be done. If you right click on the short cut you see the path in porperties. If it is emailed the path is broken. The path of one of my short cuts user\myusername\document

I just zipped one up and emailed it, unzipped and it worked.

I was using windows live mail.

Are you sure the shortcut will work on the other computer?

What's the shortcut for? It's pretty simple to just make one.

Would that work if emailed to another computer with different user names?

Good question. I emailed to my self that's probably why it worked.

I think just making one one the other computer would be the best way.
