Protected mode in Windows 7 -- Internet Explorer 8

Since August 28th Automatic Download from Microsoft, I've been unable to print documents in Internet Explorer which concern mostly finance. This includes Intuit payroll check stubs, my bank statement, and sometimes a recipe. The webmaster at the USPS consulted about the inability to no longer do Click N Ship labels suggested Internet Explorer 8 as the villain and suggested I change browser. Should I go back to Internet Explorer 7 and if so how. Using a different browser like Mozilla's would be difficult because of my vision. I have to stick with what I know. Or should I delete the update if that is where 8 replaced 7? :(
If you can help please e-mail me at [email protected]
PS If I disable protected mode even for a few minutes, my computer just goes crazy with security warnings... and this doesn't work in all cases such as Click N Ship.

Have you tried to add the sites you need to print from into the trusted sites?

Yes I have and that particular site only worked with only PM off. Some of the sites use Adobe to print. The USPS guy said their software security was interfering. I haven'e talked to the bank yet because they have been converting. Thanks!

It is not recommended to use Beta software in a production environment, due to issues like this that can arise. I would submit the situation to MS via the beta feedback forum. As a backup use Firefox or anther browser for things that you find do not work, or try to run IE 8 side by side with IE 9b.

Cancel that I got mixed up with another case I am working on. Sorry. Give me a few minutes to think about this one more.
