Problems with IE8 and IE9 beta only on standard accts.

So I have been having some issues with IE9 beta,

So I am back on IE8 for now, but with either browser in my standard account(s)

*I created a new standard account to see if it would stop the following issue*

A few of days ago Vimeo videos worked fine on this site, now I am getting this,

Problems with IE8 and IE9 beta only on standard accts.-99226d1285084870-what-you-listening-2-vimeo.jpg

As well as the information bar popping down saying it wants to install something

Problems with IE8 and IE9 beta only on standard accts.-sf.jpg Problems with IE8 and IE9 beta only on standard accts.-youtube.jpg from youtube?

Vimeo works fine if I go to thier site,

I do not have this problem in my Admin account, I have reset both versions of IE

a few times, uninstalled and reinstalled IE9 beta a couple of times, uninstalled and

reinstalled flash 32bit and 64bit, uninstalled java just to see if that would help, and

just created a new user account without transferring anything from the old one and

I am still getting the above problems in the new account.

I have also done full scans with MBAM and MSE and no bad guys found.

    Any Ideas?

    Hello Derek,

Anything in Event Viewer ? If possible try to disable UAC and test it and see if that makes any difference.
If you have Process Explorer from your Admin account
Open Process Explorer File > Run as limited user and type in iexplore and see if you have the same problem. I assume you used the Flash uninstaller to remove Flash contents. Make sure Silvelight is also updated to latest version.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks Capt.,

    1) Nothing in event viewer.

    2) Disabling UAC just made my admin account act like a standard account on that thread. So same problem.

    3) When I used process explorer to run IE as limited user it then does the same as my standard accounts.

    4) I did use the flash uninstaller, reinstalled flash, silverlight is up to date as well.

I don't have any problems in my admin account, just the two standard accts.

Although with the update John just did on the "what are you listening to?" thread

I just get "you messed up, try again" where the videos are supposed to be.

Only thing I can think of is a corrupt user acct, the standard ones anyway.

I'll just keep using my admin account for now.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah new standard account does the same thing.

That's alright matey, I'll probably do a fresh install soon, or just go back to my first image.

    I appreciate you trying though.
