check your yahoo sent mail/contacts----they got me

Hello win7 Friends,

Please check your yahoo contacts and sent mail. I received mail from about 40 friends saying I sent a link to some Canadian Rx stuff.
I did not send any such thing. When I looked at the paths of the emails from friends, it shows many other contacts have also been added to the send list.


I deleted all contacts from all 3 of my yahoo accts. I hope you do the same for now.

1st export them then delete. Add them back in a few days. I'm going to try to get in touch with yahoo somehow

Your address book was hijacked and mail is being sent to your contacts

or

Your address was hijacked and mail is being sent to many, with your address. In this scenario, get ready for tons of returned mail; addresee unknown.

This is a trojan rootkit that can infect any email application, hijacking it to send out admail.

If you have this infection, open a new thread in Security forum here where the top experts reside.

Immediately run a boot scan using Avast5 or another bootable AV (viruses can't hide from boot scans), followed by MSE and Malwarebytes. If necesarry wipe your HD to reinstall after quarantining your data on external/DVD until it is similarly scanned.
