    try this program* transmute*>>>>>

Transmute is a bookmark converter that can import and export bookmarks, or favorites, between the latest web browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera, Apple Safari, and Chromium in as little as one click.

I was rather dissapointed at the news today after xmarks updated itself.
i have installed Foxsync but i dont know how well it will perfom yet . i did like the feeling of security xmarks gave me and was very handy when clean install was the only option left.
What i would like to know is, if there is a way to save my bookmarks on an external hdd and update it regularly and manually and be able to reload them when in emergency?
Click on Bookmarks/Organize Bookmarks and at the top click on Import & Backup. You can then backup to any folder. It saves it with the date as a JSON file. To restore you just select the backup you want. I save mine to a thumb drive and import to my laptop.

I was disappointed by this news as well but the Firefox sync in Firefox 4.0b6 seems to be doing as good of a job as Xmarks did. I just disabled the Xmarks addon and set up my Firefox sync this morning, so time will tell.

well im stuck for ideas for you if you use chrome as a second best browser with a gmail account you would always have your bookmarks saved i mean if you have chrome set up and sync a gmail account then use transmute to move all your bookmarks from firefox to chrome then you would have them backed up in google docs. so if you have to reinstall windows at any time you no that your bookmarks are safe with google do you see what i mean ? thats why i use google because i do a lot of travelling and use computers in different towns and citys work related so at least then you could be on another computer away from home with no laptop, and use all your bookmarks.
