OE address book WAB to WLM contacts is messed up

after importing address book from OE to WLM (between 2 PCs XP to W7) some names are not matching as it was in the original address book. Tried both formats csv and wab import / export. Some contacts has shifted nick name to the name, some contacts had replaced NAME with email address, some contacts that were set up like this - Joe and Betty in the first name and Doe in the last name had in WLM contacts word "and" replaced with "&" . but worst of all in the contact list it was sorted as on the top of the list (alphabetically top) as & Joe Betty Doe and then the email address. as it looks like it is as the mapping of the Name, fist, last, display name, nick name and so on is not matching. So after the import it is a HUGE mess and of course impossible to find some one who was easy to find in the old address book (WAB). I must say not all names / contacts were messed up so it makes it even more "FUN". So can anyone help to transfer OE address book to the WLM exactly as it was in the OE?

It may never be exact. As I remember from switching from WAB/OE to Windows Mail in Vista back in 2007, the WM (new) style displayed the names as last, first after I was used to first last from OE. I believe WLM is closer to WM than OE, but there are some known differences in that not all the detail carried by the older programs is brought to WLM. I would guess your best bet is to use the WAB export/import since it's meant for OE. Then check each contact for errors and get ready to see some info missing and displayed differently.

I concure but when I trasfered 700 contacts just about 200 was changed. to manually edit is a bit too much. especially when first or last or display name or nick name were replaced with email address. One can't possibly know to whom that specific email address belonged. I'd say that experts at MS Live apps should look at this issue and fix the mapping of these objects. And I would say not only OE vs WLM but olso Outlook and WLM.
