Firefox 4.0 Beta 8 Download a Taste
Yes, there will be a Beta 8 release of the next major iteration of Mozilla’s open source browser, which is currently in development.
Early adopters can now download and start testing an
early preview release of Firefox 4.0 Beta 8, this despite the fact that
Firefox 4.0 Beta 7 has yet to be launched.
Mozilla had initially planned the release of seven Beta Builds of Firefox 4.0, but it appears that the plans have changed.
With a Firefox 4.0 Beta 8 now cooking, it’s safe to say that the browser vendor managed to derail from the development schedule it made public when it announced the project earlier this year.
However, it’s important to underline that the Firefox 4.0 timetable revealed at the start of the development process wasn’t set in stone by any means, and that it could, and it did change.

I wonder if beta 13 will be a lucky number

Been there, done (doing) that, for quite a while now...
The 64 bit version is all I've been using for many months. All the way from the 4bpre to the latest 8bpre.
Works a treat. Especially with the latest Flash "square" 64 bit preview.
I don't even have the 32 bit versions of FF installed anymore.
BTW, shouldn't this be in the "Browsers" section of the forum?
I only mention such because the last time I presented such as "news" it got kicked there. Sorry, JMH, nothing personal, just an observation. :)

Yeah, I'm the same Mike. been using Minefield exclusively for a while. I wonder what will happen when 4 finally comes out of beta. I presume that it will come in x86 & x64 flavours.
Will there still be a Minefield? Minefield has been around for years. I tried it first over a year ago but it wasn't very useable until Adobe bought out the "square" flash.
Maybe it'll just become x64 Firefox 4.:)
