IE update that breaks a certain functionality of IE

I believe it is a certain update that is breaking something in IE. Perhaps an Active X control? Requests trickle in occasionally from users reporting their Business Portal has stopped working. The work-around is to open Microsoft Business Portal using IE 64bit. While doable, that is a bit of a hassle.

    Here's a screen shot:

When clicking on "Document Number" under the Time Card area.. the right empty portion of the page should populate with the time card information.

Does this sound familiar to anyone and/or has anyone come up with a solution? Aside from picking through the installed updates, identifying the update, and uninstalling it?

Have you tried Compatibility Mode? And/or setting the Intranet zone (assuming it's internal) to uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode" if it isnt already unchecked.

Perhaps try to reregister IE with the Captains IE Restorator tool?
