I recently got a new PC with Windows 7. I can't seem to download any programs I want such as Ad Aware and a few others. When I click download a large arrow moves from top to bottom on the left side of the screen but nothing else happens. What's happening? Thanks. Hal.

Lets determine the problem. Download in safe mode. Can you do it?
You will need safe mode with networking.

Assuming you saw the download arrow, press Ctrl+J to open downloads

Sorry for the delay. After 5 years with XP I'm having trouble getting used to Windows 7.
I'll try the download in safe mode and let you know.

Just try and see if you can make a download that you were not able to before. I am trying to determine the cause of the problem. If you cannot do it in safe mode, try a clean boot.

I'm still having problems. With my brain that is. How do I start in safe mode? I used to know with XP but forgot. I' trying to download AdAware and a couple of other programs. Thanks again. Hal.
