    Wlm 2009

Well said, essentialsNOT! However, you don't have to go back to XP. As far as Windows 7 goes, it's pretty good. It's easy to turn off UAC and auto updates. Anything else that bothers you can probably be fixed by Google searches. (I've filled a few folders with registry fixes which I placed under the heading "Take Control".) I use WLM 2009 since it more closely resembles Vista's Windows Mail. I rarely use "Photo Email" (ok I did once when I had a bunch of crappy pictures to send). The "Insert file as attachment" and "Insert image inline" work great. Signing in so you can use the cloud is advisable, mainly so you can preserve you contacts with their arrangement into "categories" and at least be able to use Photo Email when you want to. I also forward my email to one main account so I only need to set up one POP3 account, making it behave like it had only one Inbox, etc.
Does WLM 2009 work with Win 7 64 bit? If so where can I download it? Thanks.:)

    emigrating to Peru

very little of this makes any sense to me - i am just a simple bloke that wants to send attachments that people at the other end can open rather than ringing me up and asking 'what is this sky drive thing i can't open your letter" this is just another part of the world that won't leave just me alone to get on with things and keeps trying to confuse me.

In the new mail window there should be an option to "Insert file as attachment".

You can remove the photo albumn

Just double click on the the first photo, then you can change from photo album to attachment by clicking on the paper clip icon.

    Done! No skydrive :)

Here's the scoop for Windows Live Essentails with Windows 7 32/64 bit. IF you purhcased Windows 7 before SP1 was released you can uninistall WLE 2011 and replace it with WLE 2009. Then choose to install Windows Live Mail and whatever other apps in the suite you want. I just use Windows Live Mail.

The instructions on what folders to delete after the installation are very important to do correctly. I think there are two folders (one hidden) that need to be removed. DO NOT try and remove then install WLE 2009 on a new Windows SP1 system. Can't be done without breaking Windws Live Mail ability to synchronize the calendar etc.

After they are removed you can install Windows Live Essentials 2009. DO NOT try and install Windows Live Essentials 2009 after removing WLE2011 without deleting the correct folders. It will not work.

Apparently Microsoft analyzes every photo you upload. So upload a nude picture and they will cancel your account for you.

That's only assuming you use a Hotmail/Live account. It has nothing to do with the WLM client.

I am a big fan of WLM 2009-2010. It truly is as close to Outlook Express with advantages for Live, Hotmail and MSN accounts being able to synchronize email folders. But "blah" to WLM 2011-2012 for not giving us the ability to right click, resize and send attachments as we have for years. At least an option? How much is that to ask?
