Java issue in Firefox

I can go to a login page for a site that i have a account with, my Ooma phone account in palemoon. But when i try with FF it tells me java is not enabled. I have the latest version in my plugins that i downloaded and i have it set to "always activate". Both pale moon and FF have the exact same version of java in the plugin list and both set the same. Yet i still get the prompt that tells me java is not enabled on my Ooma login page so i can't log in unless i use pale moon instead of FF. I have googled this issue and tried a number of things but none worked. Any ideas?

Is it java or javascript? They are completely different. What is the website so that I can investigate further? What version of FF do you have?

FF version 46, and the site is ooma.com on the login page, but not sure if you can test ie w/o having a login name and password that is saved because thats the part that might require it.

It says javascript, so i guess i will investigate downloading that because in FF it's java thts in the addons.

I found what it was...i have the yesscript addon and somehow it was set to block scripts on that page. How, i dunno because i ever activated it unless i may have clicked on it by accident.

Javascript is not installed but is built into the browser. It looks like the yesscript is designed to give you a black list for sites to disallow. Anything in that list will have javascript blocked hence your problem. I'm glad that you where able to figure it out. As a side note I don't trust java and most sites don't use it so unless I am on a site that requires it I keep it disabled. It is more useful for developers or installed on servers than for the average user. You might want to disable it and see if any sites complain. If you do use any that require it you can always enable it. If you don't then you might consider removing it. How do I disable Java in my web browser? I would definitely set it to ask to activate instead of always activated. It is a bigger security risk than javascript and not used nearly as much.
