Are you talking about the program, or loading it in firefox?

Here's how to disable that, and speed up Hotmail loading.

Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools> Manage Add-ons

The add-ons window will open and display the list of addons on your system (you may need to change the show drop down to All add-ons)

Messenger loading I dont have it ?-addons.jpg

Locate the add-ons Windows Live and Windows Live Sign-In Helper> Right click each add-on one at a time and select disable

They should now both show their status as disabled, and you can close the add-on window. A Guy

Wouldn't that only work in IE though? Since the settings are going through IE, it won't work in FireFox. Correct me if I am wrong.

WLM uses IE only from my understanding. So even though using FF, the messenger is using IE to connect. Could be wrong, has happened before :)

Well, from what he says he has IE disabled by windows, so it couldn't connect through IE. It would have to connect through FF because IE is completely disabled.

Internet Explorer's rendering engine is also used throughout Windows and with third-party applications as an embeddable component, it won't completely uninstall. Only the executable is actually removed. I believe WLM, Windows Update, to name a few, still use IE regardless. An interesting discussion, I wonder if anyone can confirm either way. A Guy

I always forget about 3rd-party programs.

Makes me feel like I know what I am talking about XD

I am gonna do some research on it later on. I shall let you know.

The culprit may be a Windows service called "wlidsvc". You can either disable the service or uncheck it in msconfig/services and reboot.
