Non functional IE9 and can't go to IE8 Hello,
I generally run the standard FF latest version. In previous thread I described how I damaged, corrupted my IE8 by trying out IE9 and then going back. They are non-functional. I tried FF 4 for a couple days and then uninstalled it. Sometime in that time I corrupted or messed up something as when clicking a link to a forum, it doesn't take me to FF and then pops up a script error. When just using FF 3.6.12 I have seen similar if not the same script error. Again can anyone discern what I did wrong and help me correct it please. Thanks for any replies.

Do a system restore prior to a point you messed up IE8, you should've done it in the first place. If that doesn't work, repair install may be your best choice. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 8 Release Preview CPU Intel Core2Duo E7500 Motherboard Gigabyte EP43-UD3L Memory Kingston 4GB DDR2 (2x2GB) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce 9800GT Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays ASUS VH222D WIDE HD 1080P Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Wireless Combo MK260 Mouse Logitech Wireless Combo MK260 PSU 500W Case Custom Midi Tower Hard Drives Western Digital WD3200KS. Thanks for your suggestions. I've not had good luck with System Restore Point, but I did find out from another thread of ridding yourself of IE9 and it reverts to IE8. Thanks again.

Hi Glenn, I am fine, thanks for asking. Sometimes you have to run the System File Checker a few times to get all the buggers fixed. But maybe Jacee's link can help better. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

IE8 worked with the same add-ons before the IE9 change debacle.
1st why does MS Silverlight and shockwave flash object enable themselve even though I disabled them?
2nd is it safe to try to turn back on the all the add-ons again?
Thanks a bunch for getting IE8 seemingly running o.k.!!! I will await your reply before making any further changes.
