    That's 60x faster than Chrome 6, not IE9. I'm sure IE9 is more than 60x faster than IE8.
    Hi there
Browser wars --YAWN YAWN YAWN ---we'll find soon that the browser knows what website you want to visit even BEFORE you type the address in.

Who really CARES if it's 60 or 90 X faster than YYYY. In any case a lot of the speed is dependent on such things like the capability of the UPLOAD server of the site you want to visit --totally OUTSIDE the browsers control.

It's like in the last dying days of CD ROMS PC specs had 50 or even 75 X drives -- didn't matter that NOBODY used these and if they did a slightly warped CD could be ejected at a speed that would slice someone's neck off.

Now that's a nice idea for a Crime novel -- "Murder by PC" .

Or a SC FI novel -- "My Server is Stalking ME".

    C'mon Peeps
    get real with this stuff.

Browsers are Browsers --just that. Use whatever you are happiest with.
There really in the last analysis isn't a huge lot of difference with ANY of them when reduced to their basics.

    Cheers

My mom has a good computer, and she still uses the local paper for her browser. Only got her off AOL after a lot of kicking, screaming and crying.

True, in theory, but you don't know my mom and computers. Probably uses it as a coffee table while reading the paper. Sets the paper on the desktop...puts the coffee cup on the paper...some print ink seeps into the motherboard....

    - but it's a bit more than just another spanner in a toolbox..

IE9 is actually trying to improve your online experience..
personally, I reckon it raises the standard..

it's now up to web-designers to make best use of the advances IE9 brings..

That is what they are promising. A new experience. Not yet but it's early.

    Hello everyone,
Has anyone tried any coding w/IE 9? I have a real simple custom google search on my network for school. It looks and works perfectly in IE8, Google and Firefox 3.6, but in IE 9 beta I can't "corral" the google search bar. Here is what it looks like in IE 8 and et. al.

    In IE 9 beta:

    And here is the code:
    form method.doc

I've already enabled the compatibility view which did allow the 'signing in' to the network but did not correct this misalignment glitch on this custom search module.

This is the network website http://www.envisionenglish.ning.com If you want to take a look. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    James
