Most sending mail servers will retry to send the mail over several hours if the receiving mailserver is down/not responding before returning it to sender as undeliverable.

I never wanted to risk loosing email even though I wanted to play with running my own web server. So I tell my ISP to handle the mail on their server (which includes spam blocking/quarantining) but point website requests to the IP of my web server.

email server ping

email server is currently unavailable!
I keep getting this popup and it says 'The email server is currently unavailable!'. It happens regularly but not all the time and sometimes all at once. You know like buses! Thanks for your help in advance! P.S It seems as though it's nothing to do with the email client.
