Using Chrome and a Content Management System

I have been using CMSimple content management software for a number of years without a problem. I hav recently set Chrome as my default browser and find hat I cannot oen the Editing section of the CMS website. It still works fine on IE and Firefox but not Chrome. I can't understand why this is. Any ideas please? Not a desperate problem as I still have IE and FF to fall back on.

i use chromeplus - a browser based on chrome but with a couple of extra features.

the most useful extra is 'ietab' - you have a button that can switch a tab from the chrome rendering engine to using the internet explorer trident engine, so the page in the tab will behave just as if it were ie8. it can also remember this, so everytime you go to the page, it will display in 'ie' mode.

it also does mouse gestures and 'superdrag' - highlight a bit of text and drag it, and a new tab appears with a google search on your text.

it also claims to protect your privacy more than the standard chrome.

Many thanks Angelo. Will give it a try later when I get back from walking my dog. Mind you we are in the middle of Snow, Hail, Rain and Thunder and Lightening at the moment so nobody's going anywhere for a while. The weather is really bad down here today! Unusual this early in the far SW of Cornwall. I live at the head of the Lizard peninsula and it's supposed to be a mild climate!

Mickey, a quick question: how does the download bar work in Chromeplus? Is there any option to change its behaviour, e.g. never show, hide upon download done, always show... that kind of thing? Or is it unchanged from Chrome? I took a quick look through their forum but didn't see any specific mention.

I don't really want to use a derivative browser yet, but Chrome's default (and unchangeable) behaviour of the download bar is moving beyond mere annoyance territory and is starting to seriously cheese me off.

there is an 'integrated download manager' that i've never used - default behaviour is fine by me - it runs in its own window and doesn't stick the 'status bar' download complete thing.

chromeplus also allows you to use other third-party download software.
