I guess I never noticed it, I've always been downloading online installers. My bad.

I just want Windows Live Mail 2010 or 2009, not Messenger. Anywhere I can download just Windows Live Mail 2010 or 2009? Thanks.

    Here you go, gogreen!

    Download Windows Live Mail

The latest 2009 Version (14.0.8117.0416), Offline Installer, from Microsoft, and... that's it

    Thanks, Punkster!

My idea here is to trash 2011 and use 2009. I think my computer originally came with 2010. Should I uninstall 2011 and then install 2009, or do you think it would be OK to install 2009 on top of 2011? I've backed up my email messages and accounts with Macrium, just in case.

Actually, 2010 never existed, Microsoft named Version 14 as "Windows Live Essentials 2009 (Wave 3)" and version 15 is actually named "Windows Live Essentials 2011 (Wave 4)" so... i don't think your computer came with 2010 version preloaded.... Probably 2009 :)

And yes, you should definitely uninstall your 2011 to ensure a clean installation of the 2009 one. Plus, i don't think you can "Downgrade" a product without uninstalling it.. upgrading it, yes for sure.. but for downgrading it you'll need to uninstall your actual version and install the desired one

Let me know how it ends, good luck :)

I downloaded the CAB file and extracted the MSI file. I installed WLM 2009, but after clicking "OK," I got the attached window. I tried to repair the installation, but the same problem occurred. Any suggestions?

Well, about that error here's something i found on the Microsoft Forum

You need to uninstall Windows Live Mail.

Follow this link to Mr. Fix-it.

This is however the wrong forum to get an answer for WLM. Just FYI.
Check it out and see if it works :)

Nah. Doesn't work for me. Thanks, Punkster, for trying. Looks like I'm back to WLM 2011.

The 2011 and 2009/2010 Windows Live Essentials Suites are not compatible with each other. You should completely uninstall "Windows Live Essentials" from Programs and Features" before installing the old version. Don't know what you mean by downloading .cab file since I thought the Windows Live Essentials setup file was a .exe:
