    Firefox crashed, can't access

I can't believe what's happened when I just tried to open Firefox. I got a box "Mozilla Crash Reporter" with the message: Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts." Problem is: Nothing happens when I click on Restart Firefox. I refuse to use Internet Explorer so I downloaded Google Chrome; I'm desperate for a browser. I cannot start Firefox and can't imagine how this happened. I used it earlier in the day and it was fine. Thanks for any ideas.

    Hi, ellenc! :)

Start FF in safe mode mode by holding down the "Shift" key while clicking the icon.

More than likely, you have an incompatible extension (add-on) interfering. If FF starts OK by doing the above, we can troubleshoot from there.

Nothing worked, not safe mode or anything else. But...I found the source of the problem: an ornamental font I downloaded the other night. I just tried to download Firefox 4 beta and all of the text on the site was blocked out with the ornamental font. This makes me sick. I'm alway so careful but I'm a font fanatic and never thought this would happen. I've deleted all of this font from my machine and my memory sticks. I don't think there's any way to get this malware off of my system. Will I have to do a Win7i uninstall and a reinstall to get Firefox back? ec

    Hi, again, ellenc! :)

Do you have a restore point you can roll back to prior to the time you downloaded the font?

Also, check your font settings in FF. If you need help with that ... holler!

All is well! I downloaded Firefox 4 Beta and things appear to be fine so far. Sincere thanks for all who responded. I appreciate it. ec
