Firefox 4.0 Beta 9 Drops Next Week Quote: Mozilla is gearing up to release the ninth Beta of the next iteration of its open source browser.
According to the open source browser maker, the current plan is to have Firefox 4.0 offered to testers next week.
Following a range of delays which impacted the Firefox 4.0 project, the Beta 9 development milestone was pushed into early 2011.
The upcoming test release of the open source browser is intended as a date-driven Beta, and Mozilla hopes to have it right this time around.
The browser maker wants to code freeze today, January 7th, 2010, and then produce the first Builds as early as Monday January 10th. Firefox 4.0 Beta 9 Drops Next Week - Softpedia | My System Specs |

Thanks, JMH! Yeah it does seem to be faster than before. I don't know if I'm willing to switch from Chrome, however. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHZ Motherboard MSI 890FXA-GD70 Memory G.SKILL RipJaw 3x2GB DDR3-1066 Graphics Card 2x HIS Radeon HD 6850 1 GB Sound Card VIA 8-channel Monitor(s) Displays 2x 20 inch Acer LCDs, 1x 32" Sony LCD TV Screen Resolution 4480x900 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 1000 Mouse Microsoft Wiresless Mouse 5000 PSU Kingwin 1000W Modular Case Coolermaster HAF 932 Cooling 1x 120mm, 3x 200mm, CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ Hard Drives 1x Crucial 64GB SSD

Currently using the Minefield builds, just updated to the latest build today & I'm really glad the option for tabs on top have finally made it now
Could be going back to Firefox full time from using Chrome if they keep up the good work, one of the main reasons I switched to Chrome was the look of FF4 but lately it's really started to grow on me, possibly the only thing holding me back now is the Sync option, I just don't find it as good and easy to use as the one in Google Chrome. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer Aspire 5742 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i3-370M @ 2.4GHz Motherboard Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset Memory 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 Graphics Card Intel GMA HD Monitor(s) Displays 15.6" HD Acer CineCrystal LED LCD Screen Resolution 1366×768 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 3000 PSU 65W Hard Drives 320GB (5400 RPM) SATA Internet Speed 6Mbps Other Info WEI Score: 4.6 |

Last time I installed FF4b8, the browser immediately crashed upon startup, lol.
I reopened it and tried to resize the window and move it around to an appropriate position on my desktop, but... Both of my CPU cores jumped to 100% as soon as I started this, and finally FF froze, then crashed...
