Chrome not working after resuming from sleep

    Hi everyone,

I have a sony vaio laptop running windows 7 home premium.

Basically, when the laptop sleeps OR hibernates and then wakes up again, my chrome browser does not work. When I click on a bookmark or type in a link it just keeps loading forever. sometimes it will give up, sometimes not. when i open a new tab, the default page (ie with my most common sites visited) takes forever to show up or does not show up at all. This only happens when the browser is not working. Its not an internet problem as I am able to use skype and utorrent. I have tried using IE and it also does not work when chrome is not working.

This problem has been occurring ever since I bought the laptop, but it only happens intermittently (ie not every single time). I cannot figure out anything associated with it happening or not happening.

Any suggestions of what to try?

    Thanks,

    Katie

Thanks. The reason I posted here is that I also have never had problems with chrome when using windows vista or XP. After a google search I found other posts where people describe chrome doing the same thing after returning from sleep (without solutions posted) so I am going under the assumption that windows 7 has something to do with this.

In terms of the version number, when I look at properties it says the version is 0.0.0.0 which doesnt make alot of sense. Maybe it is because the chrome application came pre-installed on my vaio?

I had the same problem and had to close and re-open my chrome browser every time after a sleep and it was quite annoying too. However a recent chrome-self update did fix the problem!!. I have the version "24.0.1312.52 m" after the update. Now the sound is working perfectly after sleep/hibernation in my win7.

Hello from the future! I'm using Chrome 59, and Donald Trump is president.
