Opera 11 opera:config help tips are now functional again.

Just noticed in the latest snapshot Opera 11.01 build 1179 the opera:config help tooltips are back. I think the last time they worked was back with Opera 9.

Its great news if you like to play around with the settings.

It won't be an auto update but you can update from the download if you are comfortable working with snapshots.

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

I've always found them pretty stable myself.

i will try this, because i have a problem with v11, i can't sort my bookmarks in Bookmarks Manager, i can't move them up or down

and also, i can't install any extension, because the browser will crash in the following 2 minutes...

i did a registry cleanup without backup and i guess something went wrong

You sort the bookmarks by using the view button.

Try choosing Sort by my order

Another way of sorting is to change the name of a folder or bookmark by right click & selecting properties ( you can also give it a nickname in properties for fast access : example I have given the Independent newspaper the nickname i )

Best bet would be to sync your data with Opera Link & uninstall Opera & do a clean install.

i have selected "my order" in bookmarks manager, i always use that function, but in v11, after that registry clean, it doesn't work any more...
i also tried by changing it's names, but this is not really a solution, more a by-pass of the original functions...

and a clean install, did that also... backup my settings and tried a clean install (that's when i ran the reg cleaner) and also an install by update from 10.63... same problem with the bookmarks & extensions

go to Opera Desktop Team - Opera 11.01 RC2
And download the installer , its the second Release candidate for Opera 11.01 so should be stable.

When u run the installer select options then change the install path to somewhere else like your desktop, make a new folder & install to that ,change Install for from "All users on this computer " to standalone installation (USB)

The USB version does not write anything to your registry everything is contained inside the folder so to uninstall it just delete the folder.

Use opera link to sync your bookmarks & verify that the sort by my order is working.
The only limitation of the USB option i can think of is that you cannot make it your default browser, it makes it very easy to back everything up.

I used to use the the registry cleaner in System Mechanic years ago but because it was too aggressive it deleted too much & I had to reinstall Windows .
I use CCleaner nowadays , never had a problem with it. I also use Comodo System Cleaner which does a more thorough job & has never given me problems.

stve- As you reported in another thread Opera 11.01 b1090 Final is now available.

I moved 64 programs from one partition to another the other day and when I ran Comodo System Cleaner afterwards it caught every single one of their abandon Registry keys and then removed them with my permission which sure beats going in and doing it manually!
