Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) Release Candidate (RC) on February 10, 2011

I've just got the update version, nice but then I liked the beta version as it was so much faster than previous versions. It was quick to download and install it just went over the top of the beta without problems.;)

I've seen this when someone uninstalled chrome, only fix was to reinstall chrome...

Maybe some setting in chrome ....?

Move your mouse over the right-hand side of the address bar and when it turns into a horizintal double-ended arrow, click/hold the mouse button and drag to the left (decrease size) or to the right (increase size) as appropriate. When you are happy with its size, release the mouse button.

If you mean whilst you have the tabs below the address bar im not sure you can.

Seems quite responsive so far. I'm pleased to see the return of the opening a favourite in a new tab by clicking on the arrow that appears when you mouse over the right-hand side of the name. The Beta version lacked this, meaning that you had to right-click and select to open in a new tab.

Wont be long before someone comes up with a tweak for it.Personally i like it across the screen all central looking anyway when you only have the 1 bar

The 32-bit package won't even install on 64-bit systems, the 64-bit installer contains both x32 and x64 versions, there are no issues with the 64-bit version

I installed the x64 version and my computer updated both the X32 and X64 versions to IE9 RC

My guess is the reason for this is if you want to run Windows 7 in the XP mode though I could be wrong on this

IE 32 bit is the default browser even on 64 bit Windows 7. Clicking a link in an e-mail etc opens IE 9 32 bit. You have to go to the start menu and click the Internet Explorer (64 bit) Icon to actually use the 64 bit version. You can't set the 64 bit version as default, I really hope Microsoft changes that in the final release.

You must reinstall Java in order to fix (repair) it after updating to IE9.

Also, not sure who said URL links not working from Outlook. They are working fine here, using Office 2010. Maybe repair Office too?

because some of us actually use a vast number of sites that are IE only and chrome can't handle, so having an upgraded IE thats pretty much as fast as Chrome that works so far on every site I throw at it with all features. I'll take it.

SharePoint for example, try it on Chrome, it's dumbed down. IE9 you get full features in an upgraded fast browser.

I'm loving the RC, they fixed so far all my complaints I hated about beta. Most all my older admin sites woudln't work, and they all have worked so far! 2 thumbs up!
