windows live mail freezes

I have an acer i3 laptop 4G and my service provider is talktalk, I have no problems with access to the internet but each time I try to use windows live mail it comes up with the message windows live mail not responding and freezes, I cant even close it by using the x in the top right hand corner, i have to close down the computer
It was working initially about two weeks ago but not any more, can you help
it looks like there are many others with the same problem out there !

What antivirus program do you have installed, and does it have a email filter feature?

I have Norton 360 anti virus installed

There have been many of these types of issues reported with using Norton 360 AV.

As a test uinstall Norton, not just disable it

, to see if it Windows Live Mail works properly afterwards.

If so, do a custom install of Norton and make sure that you do not have the email filter option selected to be included in the install.

If Windows live Mail stops working properly again, then I would recommend to dump (uninstall) Norton again and get something else (ex: the free Microsoft Security Essentials) that works without causing problems.
